How To Be Healthy When Eating Out

In honour of Hot Girl Summer, we thought we’d give you guys helpful and more importantly REALISTIC tips on how to maintain or shed some of that weight before Summer 2021! The team has also been curating a list of healthy vegetarian recipes so keep and eye out for that upcoming article. Most importantly, do not forget to fuel your body with enough food. It’s all about being at a balance, which includes staying active and eating foods that fit your dietary requirements.
Tip #1 - Look at the Menu Before 

If it’s a new restaurant you’re visiting, the best thing you can do is get familiar with its menu so you’re sure to make the healthiest choice. Once you arrive at the restaurant you won’t need to make a hasty decision nor get distracted by all the unhealthy options offered to you. 

Tip #2 - Always Go For Water 

This is our best and most used tip for sure. As long as you order water not only is it cheaper but you won’t be racking on extra calories that come from alcoholic beverages or sodas. And if you want to spice it up a bit order some sparkling water with a piece of lemon!

Tip #3 - Skip Dessert for a Cup of Coffee 

Skipping dessert and having coffee will not only help you cut out calories but you’ll be reaping all the health benefits coffee has to offer. 

Tip #4 - Chew Thoroughly 

This may seem like a no brainer but it can often be forgotten in social situations (especially since we've been deprived of it during Covid). Chewing your food thoroughly will allow you more time to digest your food hence feel full more quickly. This will also prevent over eating which is always a plus. 

Tip #5 - Order Your Food First 

The people you’re around could potentially influence your decision. You tend to imitate those around you. If you know your friends won’t necessarily make healthy choices like you, then you should definitely order before them.
